And - thank you Kevin for coming out on Friday and spending the afternoon helping Ryann and me with the footing in our ring. For the most part our footing is pretty darn good. No big problems. But it needed some maintenance that we weren't sure what to do about. Three weeks ago we had Kenny Taylor send out two men and a motor grader and they spent the day working on the sides where the footing gets kicked out of the ring. That was a major blessing. But in the process of doing that we had some deep places. Curtis came out and worked on it before our show, and the finishing touch was Kevin Gibson. So we feel really good about the rings now. Thank you Lord for sending all the right people.
And - after last year's worst winter ever - then this summer's horrible draught - our fields were in terrible shape. They got so torn up from all the rain and snow. We had to turn the horses out because the entire winter was disgusting. Then )as soon as it was possible) we planted grass seed, and - it never rained on it again, for most of the summer. Our area was declared a draught. So - we now have a team working on field maintenance - and praise God, we are seeing grass !!! We are hopeful to get at least a little grass growing. There has NEVER had much success in that department on this property. Poor Peg use to try and try and try to grow grass. She'd get a field going good, take the horses off of it for months at a time, and as soon as she put them back out they ate it down in a week.
