SEPTEMBER 2010

September 5, 2010

I have been soooooo busy with Middleburg Classic, the barn, and life that I haven't had a chance to update the web site.  There's so much going on and hopefully I'll get around to telling you about it soon.

Click here for our September 11 Horse Show Prize List

God has been blessing us. Doc and Shawn have done so many "BIG" jobs around here that it is AMAZING.  What an answered prayer the two of them have been for us.  They are doing work around here that we needed Chuck for.  So thank you Lord for sending them.

For nothing will be impossible with God.  Luke 1:37

God Bless,

Nardeen

September 6, 2010

Remember to enter our horse show by Wednesday at noon so we know if we have enough entries to have it.  We sure hope you're coming because we've missed everyone.  Wow - it's been a long time since we've had a show.  I think July 10th was our last show.  Wow - two months ago.  Where did this summer go.  Well, one thing is for sure - it was way too hot this summer to show anyway.  I sure didn't miss that !!!  So, if we had to miss two months I guess July and August were the months to do it.

We're all really excited about the horse show.  We've already had several barns tell us their coming so it looks like it's going to be a good turn out.

September 11 - Amazing Grace Stable - Judge: Whitney Brooks

click HERE for entry blank.  Please print it, fill it out, and bring it to the show to save time.  Thank you.

The September 18 Bridlewood show has been moved to October 23.  I need to leave for Middleburg Classic on Friday September 17.  Anita and Kasey were very nice and rescheduled.

Ryann and Hunter's condo is soooooo nice.  I love it.  I know they are going to be very happy there. And - it's only 3 minutes from the barn. Ryann checked it today. And- it is soooo big. I'm excited because I can finally get Ryann to take "ALL" her stuff out of my house.  The trailer wasn't quite big enough so they left lots of stuff here.  But now they have plenty of space.  Praise God.  It is nice and like I said "BIG".  They had sixteen people there tonight and there was still plenty of room.  I told Ryann that they should have Christmas this year.  Whew - wouldn't that be wonderful !

Off to bed.  Take care and God bless.  And thank you all for your hard work today at the barn.  It was truly "labor day."  We sure got a lot done.  I love our barn.  God is good.

Have a wonderful night,

Nardeen

THE BIBLE

The Bible consists of sixty-six books written over a period of fifteen hundred years by forty different writers. These men did not know each other because they were many times separated by many years; even centuries; even millennia. They could not get together and collaborate to produce such a cohesive work. They did not fabricate it. These writers came from many different walks of life and classes of society. Some were poor, some rich, some powerful, some weak. Some were prophets, some historians, some poets, some farmers, some very wise, and some not as wise. Some were kings, some lowly subjects. Some were respected; some were reviled. They came from all classes, cultures, and experiences. Yet they are in complete agreement. The Bible is a cohesive, relevant, and up to date collection of writings. The Author of the Bible is Almighty God. It is His letter to us, His people. It is a complex living organism whose elements are interlocked, interwoven, and interdependent. God used men who had different personalities and different writing styles. But even so, the Bible is complete, organized, unified, and consistent.

Our favorite local weatherman, Jon Cash, was recently fired from WAVY TV10 because of his beliefs.  He is a wonderful man, who loves the Lord with all his heart.  This is what he wrote recently on his website:

Todays Devotion September 4, 2010:

1Peter 4:12    "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trail you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.  But rejoice..."

I can't thank everybody enough for the prayers and kind words during this difficult time.  But I must be honest...it isn't all that difficult.  Let me explain why...

--God is in control and because I believe it...my heart is at rest.
--Scripture says to not be surprised at such things
--The bible teaches that tough times are to be expected...don't think it is strange and certainly do not have self-pity for me or yourself when the storms of life strike.
--We must open our eyes and understand difficult times bring us closer to God and our faith...let's begin to move forward.  Our country needs to return to these ideas.
--When crazy, unexpected things happen, we all have a simple choice.  To whine and complain and ask God why or to slow down, be still and ask God "What?"  What are you trying to do here?  Just listen and be still.
--Scripture says to "rejoice".  Now that sounds insane!  "I'm miserable...so rejoice," is what you may think.  No...we rejoice because God is trying to get our attention, He is attempting to reach down from the heavens and make us more like Him.  His love for us is so much deeper than any of us could ever understand!

There's a great song called "Jesus Bring the Rain" which is about how our trials and troubles bring us closer to God.  Aren't we so blessed to have such a wonderful God who can give us such peace when we ask him to.  God is good !!!!

Here are the lyrics.  If you get a chance listen to it on YouTube.  It's beautiful.

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain

I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray

Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty

Anyway - join the "Bring Back Jon Cash" group on Facebook.  I am boycotting WAVY TV10 !!!

Have a blessed and GLORIOUS day !

September 10, 2010

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. Thank you Barbara for all your help.  You were such a blessing to us.  And of course, all the regulars were their usual wonderful selves.  We are so fortunate and God has truly blessed us.  We were also so happy to have Neta come out and spend some time with us.  God is good.

We hope to see you at our show tomorrow.  It is going to be an absolutely beautiful day.

You are invited to join us next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Josh Carr's condo in Port Warwick for a Bible Study.  We are looking so forward to that.   Be sure to eat before you come because it will take too long to eat and have the Bible Study.  Everyone has class or work the next day.  We'll bring something good for desert when we're done.  Please  RSVP to either me or Josh and let us know if you're coming and we'll give you his address.

Alrighty - off to bed.

God bless,

Nardeen

September 12, 2010

You just couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day !!!   The weather was absolutely perfect, ad we had just the right amount of exhibitors. Not too big - not to small.  We made a little money, and everyone got to show and had a nice time.  Praise God.

It was good to see Yvette show again.  She did a good job.  I don't know, she may show all the time, but this is the first time I've seen her show in many years.

We were ALL so proud of Reese !!!  He was such a good boy for both Neysa and Sam.  He really seemed to be enjoying himself and was much more relaxed.  He went around beautifully for them both.  He won all classes with Sam and won two and second in the other with Neysa.  Good boy Reese.  And good riding Neysa and Sam.

Denise and Sydney were Reserve Champion to Neysa and Reese, and Ryann and Sydney were Champion in the Baby Green.  That horse is such a good girl.  And Denise - oh my gosh - she has lost a lot of weight.  And so has Kendall.  I hardly recognized those two girls.  Both girls told me they were wearing riding clothes they haven't worn in years. Both of they them are such beautiful girls - inside and out !!!  We're so blessed to have them in our lives.  We love them.

Ryann started her day off riding Memo - the laziest horse in America, and she did a fabulous job.  He is tough because he's so lazy,  so you have to keep riding him forward, but at the same time he's a little unpredictable at the jumps (he'll sometimes stop).  That makes him a difficult ride in the fact that it's hard to ride forward and be brave when in the back of your mind you're thinking he might stop.  But I'll tell you what, Ryann gave it all she had and rode him forward to everything.  He was a very good boy.  He didn't stop, but he did chip at one when he should have left.  It was a perfectly good distance, just a teeny bit long - but the only other option was to pull and be deep.  Then he galloped across the diagonal to the single and was a brave boy and jumped  it beautiful. He looked much happier yesterday, and we think he's starting to like his new "low key" job.  He is the cutest, sweetest thing.  Our two little teeny six year olds ride him it's adorable.

Ryann also showed Toby who was a little "frisky",  Sly who was perfect, and Sydney another lazy but perfect one.  She had a busy, fun filled day, full of wonderful experience iding all kinds of different horses.  I'm proud of my daughter !!!

Emma Claire - what a day !   She was second on Jack in the first Special Junior Amateur Class.  It was absolutely adorable.  That Jack just galloped around, did all the right distances and his lead changes.  I wish I had a barn full of Jacks in every size.  Then she showed Justice - Terri Babineau's perfect pony - and was Reserve Champion in the Beginner Equitation.  She was also Champion in the Short Stirrup on Jack.  I'd say Emma Claire had a very good day.

And - Michaela Noels - WOW what a good day she had.  She also showed Justice and won a second and two thirds in the Walk-Trot Division and a third and a third and fourth in the two walk trot Pleasure classes.  I was so proud of her.  And her Grandma, Barbara, is just about the most wonderful person you'd ever want to meet.  She just showed up at the barn on Friday in "work cloths" (right) and just pitched in and helped us for most of the day.  What a blessing she was to us.

Jodie Bayne had a great day with her cute horse "Proud Sponsor."  She was Champion and  also won two thirds in the Junior Amateur.  Her mom, Mrs. Mitchell came out and I'll tell you what, she hasn't changed a bit.  She is something else too.  It was so good seeing her again.

Kendall's little horse Deena is such a good girl.  She made her 2'6" debut and didn't care a bit.  It's very easy for her.  She actually jumps about 3' over most of the jumps.  And she did several lead changes.  She's a good girl and that Kendall has done an amazing job with her.  It's funny because Deena is at that stage in her showing where she thinks she knows more than Kendall and she gets a "little" (not bad at all) pully.  But that is so typical of horses.  "Most" of them go through that.  They start out "perfect" because they "listen" to the rider, then they start thinking they know it all and try to do it all themselves.  She'll be alright though because she's really not that bad.  Kendall just wants her to be "perfect" and guess what, she almost is !!!!  She's such a good mover and jumper.

Kendall & Deena

C.C. Howlett - CNU Equestrian Team's past president - showed Sly in the Special Junior Amateur and was Reserve Champion !!!   She was soooo worried because the division was big. I'm not sure I understand what that has to do with anything, but it worries C.C.  Hopefully she'll get over all that worrying.  Anyway - we were very proud of her.

Brittany did a great job on Toby because he was a bit frisky.  She's even learned how to ride him in the under saddle because he's really tricky picking up his right lead.  But she did it and won the under saddle, won a jumping class, and was second in the other class.  Great job Britt !!!!  You have come a long ways.

Four Quartets and Remington Brandl are almost impossible to beat in the Pleasure division and they won all three classes and of course Champion.  We all love that horse, and Remington is adorable.

Whitney Brooks was our judge and she did a good job.  Her judges cards are so amazing. She scores each horse, she marks each jump and she writes several sentences about each horse.  It's unbelievable.  She loved baby Alice and thought she was the cutest thing.  And she couldn't believe the difference in Brittany, Lucy and Sam's riding from when she judged them last year.  I'm very proud of our kids and their accomplishments.  They've all worked hard.

It was sure nice having a horse show again.  We've missed everyone.  We've become good friends this summer and have enjoyed our THSA circuit.  It's very laid back and relaxing.  And there's something for everyone.  A perfect circuit to start young horses or new riders.  And - it was nice to see little Mr. Barney at the show, prancing around and just about back to his old self after his surgery.  He's adorable.

Today is Hunter's 25th birthday and Ryann is giving him a surprise party, so I'm heading over there.  Twenty five - WOW.  Where have the years gone.

Remember Josh Carr's house Tuesday night at 7:00 for a Bible Study.  Hope you'll be there.  Either email or call Josh or me and let us know if you're coming.

Wasn't it wonderful getting rain today?  Praise God !!!

God bless,

Nardeen

September 13, 2010

We're planning our winter horse shows so if you have any classes you would like to see us offer please email us at amazinggraceva@aol.com.   We are going to offer Mock IHSA classes again, and two new divisions where the jumps are 3" higher jumping out of the lines.  This will be a great way to introduce the bigger fences to the horses and the riders.  We will have a 2'3 - 2'6" division, and a 2'6" to 2'9" division.  Heck we may even throw in a 2'9" to 3' division if there's enough interest.  So put your thinking caps on and let me know what you'd like.  We will also offer more Handy Hunter classes.  That was fun on Saturday.  Click HERE for the tentative timetable.

Hope to see you tomorrow night at Josh's house.

I am so excited because this weekend the "Awakening Festival" is being held at Morven Park and I'M, GOING TO BE THERE!!!  Some of my favorite Christian bands are playing.   Third Day, Sanctus Real, Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutlass, Fireflight and lots more.  How perfect is that !!!   A "Praise and Worship" weekend right before Middleburg Classic - right there on the show grounds !!!    God is sooooo cool.  I just love Him.

Be blessed,

Nardeen

So this afternoon Emma Claire's little sister, Fiona (middle),  and her two little friends brought bags full of carrots and Apple Jacks out to the horses.  They are so adorable.  They had a lemonade stand last week and earned money to buy treats for the horses.  How cute is that !!!   Justice was the first one to get a treat.

Thank you Josh for a wonderful bible study last night.  And thank you Joyce (Griffith) for a delicious dinner.  Joyce is AMAZING and we are all blessed to have her in our lives.  Josh's condo is a convenient location (Port Warwick) .  we hope you will join us.  Next week it will be on Wednesday night at 7.  Bring your bible, and a notebook.

Gotta run.  Lots of Middleburg Classic to do.

God bless,

Nardeen

September 17, 2010

The weather is absolutely gorgeous in Leesburg, VA.  78 degrees today and sunny.  The stall tents are up, the boys are working away, and Kristin Heider is doing the landscaping.  It is AMAZING.  Kristin ALWAYS amazes me.

The letters are yellow mums which will be opened for the horse show.  Beautiful.

There's a lot of construction going on at Morven Park.  Hopefully it will be done next year this time.  I was actually hoping the Polo Field was going to be done this year, but to me it looks like they're just starting on it.

Setting up for the Awakening Concert.

Some of my FAVORITE Christian bands are playing tonight and tomorrow.  Can't wait !!!

Okie dokie  -  I'm heading back to the show grounds and to the Awakening Concert.

God bless,

Nardeen

September 18, 2010

Another beautiful day getting ready for Middleburg Classic.  I am blessed with the best crew. They all work so hard and do a great job.  J.P. (Bordeleau) is wonderful to work with.  This is the tenth year he's been working for our show and he's been a true blessing. He now knows me so well that I hardly have to tell him a thing.  Like on my list of things to do for Sunday was to make sure all the Morven Park trash cans were picked up around the show grounds and put away.  They drive me crazy because they are all different colors and kinds - and they just look bad. We rent trash cans from American Disposal so they all match etc.  Little things like that are important to me and I know I'm a bit "crazy" but I think it makes a difference.  Anyway, about mid day I see the boys with the flatbed riding around picking up the MP trash cans !!!  I love it.  I can't imagine doing this show without J.P.  Before I had him help us, I, along with my job, had to do his job.  And that was with a crew who didn't have a clue about horse shows.  It was a nightmare.   They tried hard but I pretty much had to tell them everything to do.  Finally - the board of directors approved me hiring a technical coordinator and my life was changed.

Scott Nunnally and his WONDERFUL crew put up the tents and what a difference that makes.  The grounds look entirely different after that is done.  And Kristin Heider did the landscaping and oh my goodness - that is one talented girl.  The place looks incredible.  I'm always AMAZED at the end of this day.   Both Scott and Kristin are a JOY to work with.  I am sooooo blessed.

The tent laying on the ground.

Da Da.  After an incredible day of hard work

Maurice helping hammer in a stake.  He'll never look at tents the same again !!!

Kristin and her fiancé Brian.

Diane Wade and Maurice Bailey came out and helped.  Diane picked up our ferns and and assorted flowers and brought them to us. That was a true blessing.  Then they hung out watching the tents go up and they were as amazed about it as I always am.  It is quite interesting to watch.  Those boys work soooooo hard and are upbeat and happy all day long.  I'm still not sure why our country won't let the Mexican's in.  It's totally crazy.  They are hard working, family oriented, and nice people.  If anyone reading this knows the reason why please let me know, because I just don't get it.   Scott says most have them have worked for him for years and that they are the hardest working, nicest group of men.  He doesn't get it either.

The Awakening Festival was going on all day today, and it was sooooo cool being able to hear it on the show grounds.  Some of the bands were a little more hard rock or I guess heavy medal than I care for.  I'm more of a Jeremy Camp or Chris Tomlin kind of person.  But it was still cool being able to hear them while setting up for the show.  I wish Barb, Shawn and Leddie were here.  Shawn would have LOVED it.

The Awakening Festival.  Woodstock without the drugs or drinking.

Lots of good things have been happening at the barn while I've been gone.  The fences have all been getting painted, and the five fields by the barn have been sprayed for hideous weeds and grass seed has been put down.  Plus they used a special machine to push the seed into the ground.  So HOPEFULLY we'll get some grass soon.  Our draught this summer, and the ridiculously wet winter did the poor fields in.  Thank you Larry (Rowland) for hooking us up with the right people.   Hopefully when I get home there will be some little sprigs of grass growing.  The last time I was gone I came home to AMAZING landscape work done by Darryl and his crew from Strayseed Landscaping.  Slowly but surely were getting things done.  God is good !!!

So tomorrow Frederique and Paul are bringing the ceramic awards.  Diane and Maurice are coming back to help set up the tables in the patron's and hospitality tents.

Would you believe that there is a womens' spiritual conference this weekend at our hotel.  I am surrounded by GOD everywhere. I love it.

I'm soooooo excited about the show.  Diane says the weather forecast looks good for the entire week with a slight chance of rain on Friday.  So, I am very grateful for all my blessings.

Betsy Parker generously sponsored three Pony Hunter Classics at Middleburg Classic and now her ponies aren't coming.  They stayed in Florida until indoors.  I am so sorry they aren't going to be here.  Our pony divisions are quite light so if you'd like to come we are waiving the late fees. Let me know.

God bless,

Nardeen

September 20, 2010

We're just about ready to start the Middleburg Classic.  We start tomorrow with the ticketed warm-ups and the horses start moving in today.  Actually some moved in yesterday.  The grounds look beautiful.

Scott Nunnally (Virginia Tent Company), and Kristin Heider - I could never do this show without them. The tents dress the grounds right up, and Kristin has her gorgeous landscaping touches all over the grounds.  Diane Wade was here again all day yesterday helping set up the tent and organizing the awards.  And Alex Cenezio came in the afternoon and was a big help too.  Our crew - the absolute best !!!  I LOVE THIS SHOW.

I found a nice church yesterday that I really enjoyed.  It was an Anglican  church - something I've never experienced but it was nice.  It had some ritual like the Catholic church but not as much.  And they had real communion where you go up and kneel at the alter and the pastor prays for you and administers the communion with a real piece of bread and real wine. I haven't experienced that type of communion in years.  Usually they use that silly little cup that you have to struggle with opening, and you stand at your chair.  I loved this.

Okie dokie - off to the horse show for a busy day.

God bless - and thank you Alex and Diane,

Nardeen

September 23, 2010

Wow - was the weatherman wrong.  Yesterday we got terrible storms in the afternoon.  I guess it could have been worse because not to far from us they were having high winds along with the rain.  But boy did we get rain !!!!  Lots  of rain for about an hour, and unfortunately it started back up while the Pre-Green horses were in the under saddle .  I felt so bad for the horses and the riders.  They were all drenched.  The grounds dried up quickly though.  And - I hate to say it - as much as I hated to see it rain, we sure do need it.  Everyone is telling me that their farms are nothing but dirt.  It is sooooo sad.

My favorite horse Casallo started the day out winning the Conformation Hunter Championship.  He went beautifully. Such a cool horse.  The AGS group came to the show today and they had a ball seeing all the wonderful horses and riders.  I've missed those guys and it sure was good seeing them.

So - the past two days have been long - but the weekend is very small.  On Saturday Ring 2 could possibly be done by 11:00 and Ring 1 by 3:00 - even with the Classic and all the presentations.  Our Ponies, Junior and Children's Hunters are very small. So - we are making some changes for next year.  I'll keep you posted.

I absolutely LOVE all our staff.  They are "TEAM PLAYERS.   We are all working hard to put on a wonderful horse show, with lots of good ole' Virginia touches.  I hope you get to come out to watch.

Thank you Alex and Maurice for all your help with the Patron's Tent and Silent Auction.  You guys have been wonderful.  And Diane - we miss you and pray for you to have a speedy recovery.  All of Diane's work on the Auction has been incredible.  There are lots of nice items so come out and put in some bids.  There's an apartment in Paris for a week (thank you Lisa Rossi), a week in Ireland at Kilcolgen Castle (thank you Karen Sullivan), and LOTS of other nice things.

God bless,

Nardeen

September 24, 2010

Wow - what a busy day - again today.  But tomorrow it all comes to a screeching halt.  We have very few Pony Hunters, Children's Hunters and Junior Hunters.  It makes me so sad. So - we are working on a whole new schedule for 2011 and I think we are going to LOVE IT.  I'm actually working on it now while it is all fresh in my mind, and I've talked to a lot of people about what we're thinking about doing and they all seem positive about it.  So next year the Amateurs and Amateur Adults are going to be the big highlight of our horse show.  You know, the other divisions are up and down, but the Amateur Adults are ALWAYS faithful.  Soooo - we are working on focusing our show on them.  I can't wait until 2011!!!   By the way - I would LOVE any input you have on this, so please either call me at 757-846-8176 or email me at middleburg@aol.com and put Ideas for 2011 in the subject line.

So speaking of Amateur Adults -  the star of the show today was Lysa Burke Horkan.  That girl can ride and she LOVES it.  And her mom and dad (Elizabeth and Bobby Burke) were here (of course) to root her on.  They are so cute.  You know, they are a horsey family who have won almost everything there is to win, but they still get excited about Lysa showing.  I love it !  And I love Lysa.  She is the sweetest girl.  You know - Elizabeth and Bobby have both had some health issues but they were at the show early today to see Lysa show in her first class in Ring 2, and they stayed until the end of the day (6 p.m.) to see her win the Adult Hunter Classic in Ring 1.  That was a long day for them.  But they would never leave while she was showing. Sooooooo cute.

Another one of my other favorites - Sherri Crawford and Beckford - were Champion Adult Amateur 51 & over.  Sherri has been a wonderful supporter of our show.  Actually, Sherri has been a wonderful blessing to me.  She sent a very generous donation four or five years ago when I asked my friends to help me send some kids on a Mission Trip to Africa, and she was extremely generous this May to Ray Miller's family.  She's donated saddles to our CNU riding program.  She's a generous, wonderful person and I'm blessed to know her.  And Beckford is one of my favorite horses. My wonderful friend, Caroline Moran, sent him to us to sell because Ryann and I loved him.  He is such a beautiful horse, and I still love him.

So tomorrow starts the ponies and juniors and as I said the days are short.  We are starting Ring 2 at 9:00 and we've added a Warm-Up.  The $10,000.00 WCHR Handy Hunter Classic will start around 2:30 or 3:00.

I got sad news today.   My favorite - Uncle Sal - passed away yesterday morning.  He was 95 years old.  He lived a wonderful, long life.  He was the absolute best !  He lived life to the fullest, and passed away while eating breakfast with his wonderful wife and nephew (who's in his 80's) who had come to visit.  They were reminiscing about their younger days and his wife noticed he had quit talking.  He had slipped away.   WOW - what a way to go.  But you know what, I wouldn't have expected him to go any other way.  He was a wonderful, peaceful man, who died a peaceful death.  Thank you Lord for taking my Uncle Sal that way.  You are soooo good.

Be blessed,

Nardeen

September 29, 2010

We had a wonderful show at Middleburg Classic.  A "little" light on the weekend but it picked up.  We have great plans for 2011.

It is good to be home.  I've missed everyone.

I've spent all day yesterday and today tying up loose ends and making deposits for the show.  I had a few bills left to pay, and closed out the Silent Auction.  Diane did an amazing job with that and it was very organized and easy to do. Thank you Diane for everything.

I may go to the spa today.  Hmmmmm - that sounds good.

Take care, and God bless you in all you do !

Nardeen

September 30, 2010

Well - our area has gone from drought conditions to flood conditions - over night.  No kidding.  We were nothing but dust and dead crops everywhere (the poor farmers) and then it started raining.  We were all happy to see the rain - Lord knows we need it.  But - it has not stopped raining for days.  It is soooooo bad that many of our schools are closed due to road flooding.  The weatherman just said that some areas have gotten twenty-one inches in the past three days. Unbelievable !!!   At dinner last night Brittany prayed for schools to be closed - and there you have it.  That's the second time Britt has prayed for schools to be closed !  The other time was when we had a "light dusting" but the county panicked and closed the schools.  Britt prayers.  So, I asked her to pray for me to win the lottery.  And if there's anything you need prayer for let me know and I'll pass it on to Britt.

On a more serious note, but still regarding prayer, please keep Gary Baker in your prayers.  The more prayers the better.  Gary has been diagnosed with a serious illness and he has chosen not to go through the treatments. He and I had a nice conversation last night and I totally understand how he feels.  The treatments and the surgery involved for some illnesses only prolong the process and it could be a very uncomfortable and miserable way to live the last days of his life.  Gary is a strong person and hopefully he will be able to win this battle.  Lord knows, if anyone has won battles in the past it has been Gary.  Different type of battles, but battles none the less.  He is a fighter and I feel he can fight this.   The positive side of this is that Gary, if he hasn't already done so (and he may have - I don't know) can make sure he has accepted Jesus in his life so that he is assured a place in heaven for eternity.

You know - dying is not the worse thing that can happen to us.  Some things are worse - in my opinion.  But I guess I should clarify that.  Dying - when you know the Lord and are sure of your salvation - is not the worse thing that can happen.   People think I'm crazy - and I guess I am (a little) - but I look forward to dying.   I can't wait to meet Jesus face to face.  I can't wait to see Chuck, Mother Dear, Pop,  Gracie, Papa Joe, Uncle Sal,  Grandma, Aunt Dolly, lots of my friends and other family members.  I can't wait to leave the cares and troubles of this world.  Heaven is going to be wonderful.  And heaven is for eternity.  This life here on earth is only for a short time.  When I think about how quickly the past ten years have flown by - wow I can't believe it.  Soooooo - leaving this earth is not giving up much.  But giving up heaven would be a terrible thing because it's for eternity.  I know I want to live eternity in heaven.   Just the few years I've lived on this earth has been enough for me to know I want to choose heaven and not hell.  I CAN'T WAIT .  And you know what - it's going to be here before we all know it.  We are definitely living in the end times.

It is soooooo easy to be sure of salvation and spending eternity in heaven.  All anyone has to do is accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, ask for forgiveness of their sins, and for Jesus to come into their hearts.   That's it.  After that Jesus will start a work in your life that is incredible.   When you feel the peace and grace you receive there will be no doubt that there is a God and that Jesus came to save the world.    I get goose bumps just thinking about it.  And the cool thing is when I start writing about this the keys just start moving and I'm pretty much just being God's instrument to get this word out.  How cool is that.  He is using my computer and my website because He wants to get this message out. to get this message.   God is AMAZING !!!

Lots of people think that because God is such a good God that He would never let anyone go to hell, but that is not what the Bible says.  It says that God is a good and a JUST God.  He gives us the opportunity to choose.  He will never force Himself on us.  We have to go to Him.  And - it is easy.

The Salvation Prayer comes from Romans 10:9-10. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

So - here it is, the prayer for salvation.  Just read it out loud and feel it in your heart and soul.  And it doesn't have to be this particular prayer, you can use your own words.   It is so easy.

Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and I need your forgiveness.

I believe that Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

I confess Jesus as Lord and I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and according to His Word, I am saved.

Thank You Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Amen.

If you've read this prayer and you've accepted Jesus in your heart, please find yourself a good Bible-based church.  And if you are Jewish there are many Messianic churches or synagogues that you can attend. Surround yourself with others who love the Lord.  Believe me - once you've been saved - you will LOVE going to hear and learn the word of God. And I'm not a believer in all churches or religions.  I believe that in some cases religion, some churches and some leaders have actually given Jesus and God a bad name.   Remember, that is how Satan works. He loves it when well known spiritual leader fall.  So don't keep your eyes on man, keep your eyes on Jesus.

God bless you.
