OCTOBER 2009

October 1, 2009

We have the nicest group of people at the barn.  It's a very happy place.

On Sunday Kendall rode Rex, Teddy and Reese and they were all very good boys.  That Teddy - AMAZING !!!   He jumped several new jumps.  No stopping - and hardly even looked at them.  And, he hadn't been ridden in a couple of days.  Then tonight he jumped an entire course at the canter - lead changes and all !!!   He is really gettin' it!   The plan is for Kendall to show him next Saturday in the Baby Green.  We are all very excited.  Hopefully he won't have a meltdown when he sees all the new horses and people.  He's so beautiful and jumping so good. He's gonna get it, I just know he is.

My favorite horse "Sydney" moved in today.  I'm a little nervous about having her at the barn.  I love her so much and she's been so perfect, that I really hated to see Denise change anything about her lifestyle.  But it's closer for Denise to have her with us and we have the jumps - which is where she is in her stage of training now.  I just hope she stays as perfect as she's been.  She is the sweetest horse.  In typical "Sydney" style, she settled right in. Didn't seem to mind at all being at a new place.  Of course, she's been coming out here now for a while so it's not totally unfamiliar to her. "Rocky" (the pony) and "B.G." are her turnout buddies and that "B.G". is being snobby.  She won't be friendly at all.  Poor "Sydney".  I guess with "B.G." being in foal she's a little more "grumpy."  Anyway, hopefully they will bond soon and be itching each other's backs.

Yesterday Emma Claire, Logan and Liz had their lesson and they all rode so good.  They jumped a little course.  They are cute as they can be.  And today Sam had a good lesson on Ashleigh. She's a cute little horse.  Sam loves to ride and loves the horses.  Courtney rode Reese and it was beautiful.  He was a very good boy and even had a major challenge when a deer ran out of the woods right when he jumped into the outside line.  He bolted to the side and Courtney was tight as she could be !!!  Thank God. It was funny because we had been working on tightening up her leg and it sure paid off when that happened.

Brittany and Lucy rode very good this week too.  Lucy rode Jo Jo and Brittany rode WeeBee.  Brittany has been having some back pain and has been seeing the doctor so it's a little painful for her to ride right now.  But she did a really good job and Weebee was perfect.  I just love that horse.  He's so beautiful and such a good boy.  And Lucy - she has lots of natural talent.  She rides quite good and is such a cute girl !!!

We LOVE our CNU girls.  They are a blast.  Ryann is having the best time.  She loves teaching them and they seem to love her.  So this has been a good thing for everyone.  Tomorrow we go to Maryland for the weekend for two shows. Everyone is excited.   This is going to be a new experience for Ryann.  She's never been to anything quite like this.  I have because years ago when we were at Shamrock Stables I taught the CNU team.  We even made it to the finals with Rita Pickerall and placed second.  She actually should have been the winner but they let one of the riders have a re-ride, which I thought should not happen when you get to the finals.  I can understand having re-rides at the regular shows - but not at the finals . I'm sorry - the horses used in the finals should be ready to do their jobs, and if a mistake happens, so be it !!!   Anyway - I felt so bad for Rita because it meant so much to her and she worked so hard all year.  And, she was the clear winner in my book.  So - we have tried to explain to the girls that these shows are not the end all.  The whole thing is a "gamble."  They have to ride in someone else's saddle, draw a horse to ride, and can't even tighten their own girths.  It's a little bizarre, but I guess there's no easy way to do it or someone would have come up with it by now.  Soooooo - off we go, and we'll see what happens.  As with any show we go to - no matter where or what level - the main reward to the riders and trainers should be the rider (and horses) progress - not the ribbon.  The ribbons are nice but they are the opinion of the person sitting in the chair.  Anyway - we're going to have a great weekend, and a wonderful learning experience - and the most important thing is our girls are going to have fun !!!

Take care, and God bless,

Nardeen

October 2, 2009

Today was AMAZING !!!    (I wonder if I'd like the word Amazing as much as I do if our barn wasn't called Amazing Grace  Stable?)  Anyway - everything went quite smoothly this morning so Ryann and I were able to leave Smithfield at around 2:30 to head to Maryland for the horse show.  On the way J.P. called me about Middleburg Classic.  We chatted for a few minutes then he was telling me about tonight being the World Champion Hunter Rider Challenge at the Capital Challenge.  Word around the show grounds was that Hunt Tosh looked like the "favorite" to win and that lots of people were rootin' for him because this was his first time in the class.  Well, when we hung up Ryann asked me what we were talking about.  Well - with that - Ryann decided that we needed to go watch the class.  J.P. and Glenn both thought it was only about 30 minutes from our hotel in Baltimore.  So - that's what we did.  I've never seen the class before and I must say I have mixed feelings about it.  What they do is they have the top six point winners from the WCHR and they jump the first round on their own choice of horse who is used throughout the "challenge."  After the first round the riders switch horses and they ride a second course.  The judges score them after each round and then they switch horses and jump a third course.  The scores from all three trips are averaged and then the top 3 riders come back for a handy hunter course.  Well - I am a huge fan of Hunt Tosh - and actually I think I wrote about him on the diary before that he is one of my favorite riders.  But I must say - I thought the deck was stacked in his favor.  Hunt being the "favorite" was obviously true.  The judges were very generous with his scores.  I'm not saying that he doesn't ride great - but I don't know, maybe I'm just a huge Scott Stewart fan - but Scott was the only one to really ride the handy hunter course "handy."  He was the only one to gallop to the single oxer.  To me, Scott was clearly the winner of the Handy class.  It was interesting to watch how different the horses went for each rider.  And, I must say, I felt sorry for the horses because three trips right in a row like that is very demanding on those horses.  I also thought the scores were too low for Ken Berkley.  Of course, I love Ken Berkley.  I'm a little partial toward him.

It was fun going to the Capital Challenge Horse Show again.  I haven't been here in years.  Oliver and Billy do a great job with it.

So - off to bed to get ready for the big show tomorrow.  The girls and Ryann are going to the show grounds early so they can watch the horses school.  You go girls.  I'm sleeping in !!!

God bless,

Nardeen

October 3, 2009

Today was a GREAT start for our CNU girls.  Goucher College is beautiful and it was really nice meeting Patty Zumbrun (the coach) and her assistant Jen.  They have a very nice riding program and wonderful school horses.  To me all the horses were AMAZING !!!   I told Patty how nice all the horses are and she said it's taken many years to get to this point.  I believe it.  It takes a special horse to be able to do what those horses did today.  We even had one or two that our girls drew that weren't good draws for the particular girl that drew them - but they were still good horses.  All horses are different, and all horses have a particular ride that they like.  And for these riders to just get on a horse they don't know anything about go in and jump a course of jumps is AMAZING.  They aren't even able to trot around.  And the poor horses - having to come right out of the stall and walk in the ring and jump. For the most part the horses were very good.  We had one horse that wouldn't pick up a canter on the hunter circle until the very last second.  So that was hard - but it wasn't totally that horses fault because he's a quiet horse and never got to even trot around at all before walking in the ring. I actually loved him other than that.  And, we had another horse who was very "scopey" and by the time he got to the three stride line he was on about a fifteen foot stride and he almost did the two, then he jumped about 5' high over the next to the last jump and our rider almost came off.  But - even with that I loved that horse too.  So - the wonderful thing about the IHSA program is that the riders get to ride lots of different types of horses, and hopefully they will learn to adapt to different rides.

Anyway, we started the show off with a blue ribbon in the Open on the Flat with Haley.  She rides beautifully and is so natural.  Then she was second in the over fences class.  At the end of the day she rode in a hack off with three other girls for high point rider.  So - we had the "luck" factor come into play - which is very likely to happen in IHSA.  What happened was Haley drew the horse "Biggie" but in the class right before her hack off he ran away with the rider and had to leave the ring.  When he left they put him away.  Well - that meant Haley needed another horse to ride, and instead of her being able to "draw" her horse, the Goucher coaches just picked a horse that was left at the ring.  Well - (the "luck" factor), they picked a horse who has a right lead issue.  And again as "luck" would have it, they asked for the right lead canter directly across from the judge and on the long side of the ring.  The worst possible place.  So - needless to say, "luck" wasn't on our side in the hack off.  But - I think Haley learned a lot about what to do next time when in that situation.  Actually - we are all in one of the rooms right now watching the video of today and the girls are having a nice discussion about what to do next time that happens.  These girls are so adorable and having such a good time together going over today's horse show

.   Haley & "Yorktown"

Brittany was another blue ribbon winner, winning the Beginner Walk, Trot, Canter. Danta rode really well in the Intermediate on the Flat and was second. Diana was fourth in the Intermediate on the Flat. Ellen was fourth in Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter.  Katie was fifth in the Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter.  All the girls rode well, and we are very proud of them.

WE HAD A GREAT DAY and a GREAT START.  Ryann did such a wonderful job today.  I am a very proud mom.

P.S.  CNU ended up tied for the third high score college - which was great since we had the one horse who wouldn't canter, the one horse who was too scopey, and no rider for the Walk Trot.  What an AMAZING first show.  You go girls.

This is "Yorktown" the scopey horse and Marie in Open Over Fences.  I wasn't kidding was I?

God bless,

Nardeen

October 5, 2009

Sunday was another fun day at the horse show.  Haley was 5th in the Flat class and 3rd over fences.  Katrina was 1st on the flat and 2nd over fences in the Novice section.  Danta was 1st over fences and 5th on the flat.  Her flat horse was quite frisky I must say.  Actually - we even asked for a re-ride but it was denied.  Then poor C.C.  had two draws that weren't good for her.  One horse was way to frisky on the flat and the horse for the over fences was very lazy.  So she got a little bit of both experiences on Sunday.  She was having a beautiful trip and then she was coming around past the in gate to go back up hill over the last two fences and her horse trotted and wouldn't pick the canter back up so she had to circle.  It was such a shame because it was so beautiful other than that.

Again - as I said before - this is probably the best procedure for doing the College horse shows.   I can't really think of anyway better.  Yes - there is a lot of "luck" involved but at least the girls are getting an opportunity to show, to ride and show different horses and to form friendships and experience "team work."  It's a great way to stay involved without the expense and burden of owning and keeping their own horses at school.  And - all the girls are so sweet and seem to love it !!!

Teddy - jumped the entire course again tonight and absolutely beautifully I must add.  He is really gettin' it.  We're going to "hopefully" build the horse show course tomorrow evening.  I have some new jumps from Middleburg Classic to put in the ring.  They are beautiful.  So - we want to get them in the ring so Teddy can have time to digest it all.

Remember to enter the show by Wednesday at noon.  The show is this Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

I'm falling asleep at the computer.  I'll have to pick up where I left off later.

Many blessings,

Nardeen

October 7, 2009

So - it is one of those tricky decisions about whether or not to have the horse show this weekend.  We have some entries but probably not enough to justify the expense and effort that goes into putting on a show.  Hmmmmmm - tough decision.  Well - if  you are planning to show and haven't sent in your entries please e-mail us tonight or CALL US tomorrow at 757-357-7471 BY NOON and let us know the horses name and what divisions you are planning to show in.  We'll make a decision tomorrow afternoon and I'll post it here in the evening.

That Teddy was a good boy tonight jumping the new course.  He was a little scared, but nothing like he would have been a few weeks ago.  He is soooooo beautiful.  Kristy is beside herself about him.  It's fun seeing how excited she is.  And that Kendall - AMAZING !!!

Please keep my nephew Josh - and all our troops - in your prayers please.

Take care and God bless you,

Nardeen

October 8, 2009

We're having the horse show.  It starts at 10:00 a.m.  It's not too big so I'm expecting the "schooling break" to be at around noon.  We should have a short day.  Soooooo - we'll see you on Saturday.

Tonight Teddy jumped the entire "new" course - oxers and all.  He is so beautiful.  He looked like a "real" horse.  It was really neat to see the transformation in him and how much more confident he is now.  I think he really likes the "new" Teddy.  He has taken that "deep breath."  We have all had a wonderful time watching him figure it all out and "relaxing."  He use to be a nervous wreck just being in the ring.  He was never relaxed.  And tonight, he was like any other horse.  Not a nervous bone in his body.  It brought tears to my eyes to see him like that.  To think how scared he was just a few weeks ago and to see him tonight was heart warming.  And Kendall - she has been so consistent in riding him everyday and so patient with him.   She has made every ride a relaxing "fun" experience for him, and he loves her.  She gave him confidence in himself.  God is good !  Remember,  He answered our prayer that afternoon and to Him I give the glory.  So - Teddy will be making his show ring debut on Saturday.

God is GREAT !!!

Nardeen

October 10, 2009

Well - Teddy was AMAZING.  Last night was a little tough for him because we added hay bales and brush to the course, and a new wide wall in place of one of the ladders.  But for Teddy - he was a very good boy.  Today - he was wonderful.  I was wondering how he was going to react to people in the announcer stand and horses outside of the ring, but he didn't seem to mind any of that.  He started out a little worried but he got better and better and better in every class.  All of us who have watched him come along were very excited today.  It did our hearts good to see him relaxing and becoming a real horse.  And I'm telling you, he is the perfect "hunter look".  The judge, Edee McGregor, couldn't get over what a beautiful look he has.  He has the most wonderful canter and rhythm to the jump - and jumps so round. And - he does perfect flying changes.  It's unbelievable.   Kendall has been riding him for around five weeks now and what a blessing Kendall has been for that horse.   Richard Isner just happened to come to the show today, and "amazingly" enough videoed Teddy's Baby Green trips.  No one even asked him to - he just happened to video him. How incredible is that.  When I get a copy of it I'll hopefully be able to post it so you can see it.  You won't believe it !!!   As I've said before - God gets the glory, for putting all the pieces in place.  Great job Kendall - you are AMAZING !!!  We love you and so does Teddy.   And thank you God for answering our prayers.

Sam rode so good today.  He and Ashleigh won a class and very deservingly so.  Sam has improved with leaps and bounds.  He looks like a different rider.  And - Sam had a really AMAZING thing happen to him today.  He got to show Ann Martin's wonderful horse Supernatural - and was Champion in the Pleasure division.  Sam is hopefully going to be leasing Supernatural (Toby) now. Sam has been praying and praying for a horse that he's more suitable for size wise and along comes "Supernatural."   What an amazing answered prayer that is !!!   We love that horse .  And, we love our God who is so good.  And thank you Ann for sending us "Toby."   We have loved that horse since we first saw him last year.

Ryann showed Rex today and was Reserve Champion in the Green division.  He was a very good boy.  That horse is a character. The Christopher Newport Team is doing him a world of good.  That program has been good for several of the horses.  Neysa loves Troy being in it and says he's doing much better now.  And Heather and Debbie are very pleased with how Rocky is doing.  So - this has been a win/win situation for everyone.

Speaking of Neysa.  The girl can ride.  She won the Equitation - and was Reserve Champion Open Hunter and Junior Amateur.  It was fun.  She rides beautifully and LOVES IT.  And that little Owen is just about the cutest little boy in the world.

Catherine Isner's little girl Charlotte is the cutest thing too.  When Catherine was in the ring showing Charlotte kept telling her that she loved her. It was adorable.  And Catherine - would answer and tell Charlotte that she loved her too.  I loved it.

I've got more to tell you, but I'm too tired.  Every night at about this time I'm done !!!   I use to get a second wind, but not anymore.  When it's over, it's over.  I guess that's what happens !   Well - Brittany conked out right after dinner.  So at least I made it longer than she did - and she's just a kid !!!

Okie Dokie.  Have a blessed night.

Nardeen

Typical of Caroline - she did not forget that I told her that Brittany loves Georgina Bloomberg.  Georgina and Caroline live in the same "neighborhood" in Wellington.  So - what did we get in the mail this week.  An autographed picture of Georgina on one of her jumpers.  She wrote "To Brittany - all the best - Georgina."  I'm hoping to one day take Brittany to Wellington to meet Georgina.  What a thrill that will be for her.  Brittany loves that Georgina is not only a great rider but that she also started "The Riders' Closet" to help riders get lightly used riding clothes that they might not otherwise be able to afford.  Brittany and I both think that is such a great program.  Something like that takes a lot of time and effort and I'm sure Georgina is very instrumental in running it.  It was started to specifically help riders on the IHSA acquire proper attire.  I'm going to put our Christopher Newport Girls in touch with her.  The link is www.theriderscloset.org.

Ryann and I are off to Richmond to visit the new State Fair Facility.  A new place in Virginia to have horse shows.  Hooray !!!

Have a blessed day.

October 18, 2009

Today was such a peaceful, blessed day.  I went to Bethel and Pastor Glenn was his usual entertaining and inspiring self.  He is wonderful.  And the Masters' Commission did a cute skit.  What a great group of kids.  Annia is loving every minute of it.  She is so precious.  I also went to Healing Waters and Pastor McCarty was wonderful too.  Both Pastors are wonderful.  I am so happy that I'm able to attend both churches because of the way their schedules are.  Bethel is at 9:00 and Healing Waters is at 11:00 so I have just enough time to make it to both.  I'll tell you, I would hate it if I had to pick one or the other because I LOVE THEM BOTH.  They are totally different - but both are amazing.

Please keep Hunter, Pastor McCarty and Pastor Tim in your prayers.  Tomorrow they are leaving for India for ten days.  I know this is going to be a great experience for them all.

It was a relaxing day at the barn.  We were hoping to have a "Horse Show Clinic" with the CNU girls but the weather was just too drizzly.  No point in being miserable.  So instead I cooked lunch for Brittany, Agita, Sam and John at Ryann's house while Ryann and Hunter were out getting some last minute things for Hunter's trip.  Then when Ryann got back they all went out and did the barn chores and I made a dinner to take over to the Masters' Commission kids tomorrow. I love cooking when I have time.  Today was just a nice, peaceful day.  God is good !

I just saw The Chronicle that had the Middleburg Classic article in it.  I don't subscribe to it anymore because I rarely have time to read it.  Anyway - the article had two pictures of the pretty wagon wheel jumps that I bought for Amazing Grace Stable.  I love that jump.  I wanted to buy a couple more but I didn't have a trailer with me to get them home.  Chris Wynne was very nice and brought those standards home for me.

Isn't this weather crazy.  I can't believe it went from summer to winter over night.  Brrrrrrr.  Hopefully it's going to warm up soon.  I wish I was already in Florida.  I can't wait to get there.

Take care and be blessed,

Nardeen

October 21, 2009

Congratulations to Peg and Star Struck for winning a class at Washington.  How exciting.  I know you all must be thrilled.

These have sure been a couple of beautiful days.  You just couldn't ask for it to be any nicer.  We are enjoying every minute of being at the barn.

These horses are spoiled rotten.  We've been feeding them Mr. Roff's beautiful Alfalfa/Timothy hay and they love it.  Well, yesterday we got some of his regular Timothy - which is absolutely gorgeous and smells so good.  It's not quite as "pricey" as the other hay.  Well, they won't have any parts of it.  Even "Pony" - the biggest vulture in the world - turned his nose up at it.  I don't know what we are going to do with these guys !!!

We are hopefully going to have a horse show or two in November.  I'll be posting the dates soon.  We are going to offer classes for our CNU girls - and try and run them in a similar format as the IHSA shows.  If any of you other "college" riders in the area would like to attend, let us know.  It should be a fun experience for everyone and good practice.  I'm also thinking we could run a little series of shows for the girls so they get to practice more than every once in a while at a IHSA show.  Sometimes they only get to do one class at one of those shows, so this would be great for them.  Let us know if you are interested.

We're off to teach, then off to church.  LOVE IT !!!

Be blessed,

Nardeen

October 26, 2009

We are excited about having another one of Anne Martin's wonderful horses at the barn.  "Super Sly" moved in this weekend.  He is such a cute horse and "kicking quiet" - and a thoroughbred !!!   Go figure.  If you know anyone interested in doing a partial lease on any of Anne's horses she's interested.  It would be a great opportunity for someone who doesn't have the funding or the time to totally do a horse on their own. These are very nice horses and we would love to have you join us at Amazing Grace Stable !   Let me know.

We just received our ballots from the VHSA with the nominations for special awards.  Our Tidewater area is sure well represented.  In the category for Horse Person we have Chris Wynne and Peg Seals; for Amateur Sportsmanship we have Kendall Parks, and for Junior Horse Person we have Taylor Shearin and Peyton Smith!   Wow - isn't that wonderful.  And each and everyone of them are worthy of winning in their categories.  Congratulations everyone.

Our next horse show is going to be November 21.  I'll be posting a prize list here soon.  We will be offering a few classes for the college kids which will be run in a similar format to the IHSA shows and they will even "draw" the horse they are going to  show in those classes.  In addition we will offer classes for Beginners, Pleasure riders (hunter and western), Junior/Amateur, Open, Green, Baby Green.  I'll probably work on this while I'm in Florida so I'll get it posted here in a few days.

Speaking of Florida, I leave tomorrow and I'm soooooo excited.  The weather hasn't been so bad here though so it's not like I'm leaving terrible conditions.  However - the weather is always AMAZING in Palm Beach.  I love it there.  It may rain a little - one day here or there - but it never goes on and on and on like it can do here.  When I spent the winter there a few years ago, the weather was absolutely PERFECT everyday.  I think we got rain maybe once or twice but it was only for an hour or so.  It was incredible.  Perfect, everyday.  Just the right temperature, not too hot, always a little breeze, always sunny and happy.  And everyone there is happy.  They contribute it to the sunshine and I agree with that.  One day Wellington, Florida will be my home.  It's on my "wish list."

Here's a beautiful verse in the Bible that Ryann and I both love so much.

"But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun); they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."   Isaiah 40:31   Isn't that a great verse?

God is wonderful. He is always there when we need Him.  He is always there when we seek Him.

Have a blessed and glorious day,

Nardeen

I just got a very nice e-mail telling me that Taylor Shearin and "Rejoice" won a Large Junior Hunter class at Washington   Congratulations Taylor and Chris (Wynne) !   I love "Rejoice."  She's been one of my favorite horses since the first time I saw her.  She is such a beautiful color.  She's bay with a copper-tone.   They were champion at Middleburg Classic so that made me very happy.  And - of course I LOVE her name !  So congratulations you guys.

October 28, 2009

I'm sitting in the Atlanta airport at a great area that has tables etc, so we can set up our computers and work or play - whatever the case may be.  Anyway - I have a 3 hour wait until my flight to Palm Beach so I thought I'd do some work and play !!!

I hope everyone votes for Kendall for the VHSA Sportsmanship award.  She is always supportive of everyone and you just couldn't ask for a nicer, sweeter, happier person.  I can't think of anyone who deserves this award more, so please get those votes in today !!!

I saw Peg yesterday and she told me that Savannah Jenkins and Star Struck were second, fifth and seventh in the Small Junior classes at Washington.  Congratulations Savannah!  It sounds like Star Struck was a super Star at the WIHS.

Hunter, Pastor Mac and Pastor Tim come home tomorrow.  Actually - they are in flight now !   Isn't that amazing that it takes so long for them to fly back.  All total - with plane switches etc., it's thirty three hours.  And I'm complaining about a three hour layover in Atlanta.  Well - in my defense, they use to have a direct flight from Newport News to Palm Beach that left at 10:00 a.m.  It was WONDERFUL.  This 5:55 a.m. flight with three hours in Atlanta and then a 1:00 p.m. arrival in Palm Beach is for the birds.  But - I guess it still beats driving.  Anyway - Ryann is really excited about Hunter coming home, but not nearly as excited as Hunter is about coming home.  He has a new appreciation for "home."

Hunter's mom, sisters, Hunter, Ryann and possibly me are going to Italy in February.  I've never been to Italy.  Since I'm a full blooded Italian I should probably go.  I'm sure it will be an amazing trip.  So - I'm prayerful about it and we'll see what happens.

B.G. is DEFINITELY in foal.  She is huge.  She's so cute.  I'm sure that Rocky is going to think that he's the father.  He loves her so much.  The two of them are cute as they can be.

We have a wonderful new girl at the barn named Cady who is going to be teaching lessons on the weekends and some evenings.  If you or anyone you know are interested let us know.  She rides great, and is the sweetest girl.  We love her.  She was another blessing in our lives who just dropped in from nowhere and wants to be part of the barn.  You will absolutely LOVE her when you meet her.

We got our new hay and the horses LOVE IT !!!  Thank you Chris for giving us that information.  The hay is beautiful Alfalfa/Orchard grass.  The nicest man named Dean and his mom Carol brought it to us.  Dean is from - get this - "Churchville", Virginia.  That's up past Staunton.  I love the name "Churchville."  He's been growing hay for the past 17 years and sure knows what he's doing.  He's just a little guy, but strong as an ox !!!  He arrived with that truck load of hay and Ryann and I looked at each other, and said -  "God will help us with this."  About two minutes later - no exaggeration - John arrived on the scene - who is also strong as an ox - and they unloaded that entire trailer of hay within about 30 minutes.  It was AMAZING !!!  Our God NEVER lets us down.  NEVER !   So thanks again Chris.

Alright, I'm done playing now and gonna do some work.  I'm thinking I'll work on the November 21st prize list.

Take care, God bless, and lots of love,

Nardeen

Kathy sent these pictures today of Petunia Mae and Peyton at the Pony Finals in Kentucky.  She asked me to thank Chris (Wynne) for making her a great pony and to thank Peyton and Jackie for taking her to Pony Finals and doing such a great job with her.  She is the cutest pony.  She looks just like her beautiful mother, Surprise !!!

I'm in Florida and it is perfect - just like always. I am so blessed.

Before I left home I took this picture of a tree behind the barn.  Isn't it AMAZING !  I'm sure glad that it peaked like that right before I left or I would have missed it.  A tree like that does something to your heart.

I'm off to watch the World Series.

God bless,

Today was a peaceful, relaxing day in Wellington.  We went over to the show grounds to see what's going on and there is so much construction it's incredible.  I look at it and can't imagine it being ready in just a few weeks, but it will be.  It is wonderful how this show grounds is always making improvements.  It's crazy because it's already sooooo perfect.  It's the ultimate in horse showing.  But every "summer" they work and work on the grounds to make it even that much better for the upcoming show season.  It is six months of heaven in Wellington, Florida.  The exhibitors who show here are so blessed to have a place like this.  It appears they are working on the footing in the main hunter ring and putting in that new fabulous stuff.  Plus there is lots of other construction going on.  It will be exciting to see the final outcome.  And Caroline's place is the absolute perfect location.  Just outside of the main hunter ring.  And gorgeous - beyond words.
