I'm still in Florida and LOVING IT !!! Like I said, one day Wellington, Florida is going to be my home.
This morning I'm going to Acts 2 Worship Center, the little church I went to when I lived here a few years ago. Pastor Calvin and his wife Christie are the worship leaders and they are incredible. Pastor Calvin plays the piano and sings and Christie also sings - and is quite good I must say. The message is always wonderful. I'm really looking forward to it . I didn't get to go to church last Sunday and I miss it terribly when I don't go. There is something about being in church that makes a difference in your day and your week. They say it's because when believers join together to worship that the Holy Spirit is in the midst of them and that touches you in a powerful way. I use to think that was a bunch of hog wash - just something churches told us so we would come there on Sundays. But - I must say that I'm becoming more and more of a believer in it. I can really tell a difference when I miss church. It's like something is missing. And you know what - there is something missing. People who exercise or run say if they skip a day they really miss it. Their body craves that routine exercise. Well, I look at church the same way. Our soul craves that spiritual feeding. I still watch my favorite television preachers like Joel, Joyce and Creflo - but there is definitely something about being in church that is different. Sooooooo - with that - I'm off to get ready. I CAN'T WAIT !!!
I hope to get some more pictures posted later today. I'll head back over to the show grounds . It's funny because yesterday when I was there I didn't know one person except Robbie Coluccio. There were hundreds of people on the show grounds - and no one I knew. There were rows of beautiful tack stall set ups - definitely in the spirit of Halloween. Each one had their banner with their barn and trainer names and I didn't recognize any of them. It's amazing how many people show horses.
I'll be back,
Nardeen

I love the Acts2 Worship Center. That little church is AMAZING and has really grown since I was here before. Their worship team is incredible . To me, the worship team is a very important part of the service. The music helps get you in the "spirit". Bethel Temple use to have an AMAZING worship team when Brian McGowan and Sandy Johnson led worship. Two very anointed and blessed people. I love and miss them both so much.
Ryann has joined the prayer intercessory team at Healing Waters. They meet on Monday evenings. If you have anything you would like prayer for please let her know. Ryann is quite a fervent prayer warrior. She prays from the bottom of her heart, and is so sincere, and God listens.
I'm having a wonderful, relaxing time in Florida. God is good !!!
Be blessed and lots of love,
Nardeen

Well - it's back to reality. Home to rain, thunder, lightning, and a very rough plane ride for the last few minutes. But, it sure was good to see Ryann, Brittany, Faith and Snuggles when I got here.
Today was the perfect ending to the perfect week. It just doesn't get much better. Perfect weather all week - of course. A little "drizzle" today, but it was only for a few minutes. This morning I watched Caroline ride my favorite horse, Walter, who is the most beautiful horse in the world - and I'm not kidding. Then Alex, Caroline and I went to Worth Avenue in Palm Beach and had lunch with Juan Salinas - one of the most handsome men in the world - and I'm not kidding. So - it was an absolutely perfect day I must say. Juan is a polo player. He and Alex are good friends. I met Juan a few years ago at Great Meadow. That was back when they put the polo field in then they didn't want us to use it anymore for our outside course at Middleburg Classic. Juan was the president (or something like that) of the polo club who rented Great Meadow for the season. He's a very nice man and it was fun having lunch with him today.
God bless,

We have a busy weekend. Today we have a clinic with the CNU girls. We are also getting five of the horses ready to go to Carlton Farm tomorrow for the William & Mary/CNU Horse Show. And - we have a birthday party !!! So - we have lots to do and a BEAUTIFUL day to do it. What a great weekend this is going to be. Perfect weather.
I hope you have a wonderful, blessed weekend. Lots of love,
Nardeen

What a great weekend. Absolutely perfect. The CNU girls came out yesterday and helped get the horses, the tack, and the trailer ready for the horse show. They were such a big help. Thank you soooo much Kristie for doing all the body clipping. Agita made the truck look like new again, and Brittany made the trailer perfect for the horses. We really appreciate all everyone did to help.
Neysa and Kendall came with us to the show this morning and helped school the horses. Kendall did Piper and Reese, Neysa did Troy and Rocky and Ryann did Rex. It was such a blessing having them help us and they did a great job. Thank you girls so much. Neysa stayed with us at the show all day - and by the time we got home she was very excited to see Owen again. I remember those days. Actually, I'm still that way.
We were so happy with all the horses. They were very, very good. Reese and Rocky did the flat classes only, Rex only did the fences classes, Troy and Piper did both the fences and flat. I know this may sound crazy, but all the horses seemed to have the best time. They were getting a lot of attention, and a lot of treats. They really seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was sooooo cute !!! We were very proud of them. If they gave a high point horse award Rocky would have won it today. He was first or second in every class he went in. Of course - IHSA is judged on equitation but the horse does play into it somewhat. And that Rocky proved to be the perfect Equitation on the Flat horse. Good boy Rocky. We love him. The other horses all won good ribbons too and they were all SOOOOOO GOOD all day long.
On the way to the show this morning, I drove the truck and trailer and Ryann rode with me. We had a little "church time" by reading a daily devotional that was about the importance of being a dependable person. Then we had prayer and we asked God to be with us, to protect the riders and horses and to let our girls have a wonderful, fun and successful day. We told Him we wanted them to WIN - not for us or them to be prideful but so we could give Him the glory for answering our heartfelt prayer. When we got to the horse show we had a short team meeting and we also had a short prayer. Well - I'm not certain right now who won what (I'll post that here soon) but to make a long story short - CNU was the HIGH POINT COLLEGE !!! On the way home we also had prayer, thanking our God for answering our morning prayer and letting our girls experience the victory of being the winning team ! Thank you God - You are the best !!!
We had a real team effort this weekend. All the CNU girls helped in some way. And thank you so much Agita, Brittany, Kendall, Kristie and Neysa. You were all such a blessing and helped make this one of the nicest weekends I've had in several years ! God bless you guys and we love you all.
Happy Birthday C.C.
God bless,
Nardeen
P.S. I'll post some pictures and class results here in a day or two.

Ryann and I are still excited about how wonderful this weekend was. It was one of those weekends when EVERYTHING just fell into place. The best part was seeing how wonderful God is and how he answers our prayers.
As I've said many times about the IHSA shows - it is basically the luck of the draw. We took five of our horses to the show to fill in for William and Mary. Ironically only one of our riders drew one of our horses. CC was blessed and drew Rocky - the star of the flat classes - and then she drew Reese for the ride off for High Point Rider. Actually, to Ryann and me that made them winning the High Point College award even better !!!
We are so happy for our girls that they ended the first semester of horse shows on such a high note. We feel this victory was to help strengthen their self esteem, their desire to practice and learn, and their faith. Everyone of these girls are adorable and we love them all. It has been sooooooo much fun having them at the barn. God is so good.
We are also very blessed to have several other CNU students who come out in the mornings as "volunteers." They are so helpful to Ryann. It's amazing how when one door closes another door opens. That's how God works.
Yesterday was another fun day for us. We took the afternoon off and went to Sterling Meadows to get paddock boots, half chaps, new clippers (the kind Fabio, Caroline's groom uses) and a few other odds and ends. We love that tack shop. They have a little bit of everything. Then we had lunch with my nieces Janyce and Denise, and went to Lynnhaven Mall for a few minutes. Ryann wanted to go to this Christian cloths store called C28. Wow - it was AMAZING. They had really nice stuff, the salespeople were wonderful, and when you checked out they asked if there was anything you would like for them to pray with you about !!! We took full advantage of that and had prayer for our health, horses, riders, and for Amazing Grace Stable to shine for our God ! Great store. You can never have enough prayer.

Maralyn brought G-Man back to the barn last week. Wanda told me he hasn't been happy. She said when she got him back here and unloaded him off the trailer he looked around and took a big, deep breath. She said "he was glad to be home." We moved him back into his old stall and put his hay by the window where he likes it. He went right in and started munching as if he'd never left. Horses are so funny. So welcome home "G" and Mad Dog.
Remember our horse show on November 21. There's something for everyone. We know of several Western Pleasure horses that are coming. If we have three or more of each we'll split the Pleasure Division by Hunters and Western.
Okie Dokie, I'm off to get ready to go to the barn. I hope you have a fun filled, happy day. We're gonna "batten down the hatches" and get ready for this storm that's headin' our way. It looks like we're getting ready to have three rainy and windy days. Oh well - it will be a nice time to get some indoor barn work done.
Take care, God bless, and lots of love,
Nardeen
November 11, 2009
So the rain has begun. Actually - it started yesterday afternoon, just in time for our afternoon lesson. Well - it would take more than rain to keep our little Emma Claire from taking her lesson. She is THE CUTEST THING. I love her. She didn't want to stop, and Jack didn't seem to mind, so we kept on going. We worked on leads at the canter and counting strides and she did it perfectly. The best thing about Emma Claire is she loves the horses. When I asked her if she wanted to do more she told me she would love to do more but Jack had probably done enough. How cute is that !!! She's precious.
It looks like the rain is set in for the next three days. We are going to look at this as a time to do inside stuff. I know my poor house can use some "cleaning." I'm actually going to box up some stuff to take to the Good Will. De-Cluttering !!! I have way too much "stuff".
We could use more tack for the CNU team. If you have anything you would like to sell and/or donate please let me know.
Okie Dokie - it's time to get to work. Rain, rain and more rain.
Be blessed,
Nardeen

Boy it sure is a mess in the Tidewater area. We're having a Nor'easter. Our weathermen told us this was coming but I think it ended up being a bit worse than they thought it was going to be. It is actually quite bad. All the schools, colleges, etc. are closed. There was a tree down across our road to my house and we had to get one of the neighbors to come out and chain saw it back so we could get home. The lights are flickering on and off - so we're hoping to not lose power. It's been on the news all day long. There's lots of flooding everywhere. We actually had to take a different route to the barn than usual because of flooding on one of the roads we take.
Brittany, Ryann and I went to the barn EXTRA EARLY this morning because we all woke up feeling sorry for our poor horses - especially the ones who live outside, so we brought them all in. Everyone is toasty warm in the barn now and that's where they (unfortunately) are going to stay for the next day or two. Poor things, they hate being locked in their stalls.
We came back home this morning and made - get this - Thanksgiving dinner. Ryann has been craving it for the past couple of weeks so we thought today was a great day to make it. I was in the mood for Chicken and Dumplings, but Ryann won out. I love that she knows how to cook now because she was an unbelievable help. Plus she helped clean up. She's a grown up.
So - we've finished everything at the barn and we're back home, and eating Thanksgiving dinner. Cady is staying with us tonight because she lives in Ghent and it's flooded down there. So she took me up on my offer to stay with us. She's precious and we're glad she's here.
As I'm writing this we're all in the family room listening to limbs hitting the house. It's pretty scary. So please keep us in your prayers. It definitely feels like it did during Hurricane Isabel.
Okie Dokie, I'm gonna go ahead and post this - if it can go through.
Love you and God bless,
Nardeen
November 17, 2009
We survived the Nor'easter with no damage. The worst thing was a tree on the fence in our front paddock. And Anthony, our wonderful farrier, chain sawed it down and that was that. Anthony always makes everything look soooooo easy. He's amazing.
Surprisingly enough the ring was rideable on Monday. Ryann dragged the ring and was just about done building the course before my morning lesson so my girls got to try it out. Neysa and Denise were the course testers. That Sydney is AMAZING. She hasn't been ridden in at least a week and certainly hasn't jumped in about two or more weeks - and she was PERFECT. The new course didn't bother her a bit - it just made her jump better. I love that horse. And Neysa and Troy - well - what can I say except PERFECT. Troy is such a good boy and is soooo adjustable. He reminds me of "Slick" Lynne Roadarmel's old horse. He's like an accordion and Neysa rides great. So we had blast.
I've got lots more to tell you but I've gotta run. I have a couple of errands to run before heading to the barn. Ryann has lots of horses to ride today.
We are so blessed with the greatest group of volunteers at the barn. God has sure provided !!! And we thank Him !
Take care, and God bless,
Nardeen
November 18, 2009
Life doesn't get much better than this. Sunshine, beautiful horses, wonderful people. And - my Ryann cooked delicious Beef Stroganoff for dinner. She can cook. It cracks me up.
We're excited about having a clinic in January with Elizabeth Solter. She's going to let me know on Friday when she can do it. It's is probably going to have to be January 16 & 17 because she is leaving for Ocala around the 24th of January, and our college girls don't get back until January 11. So it looks like the 16 & 17. I told Elizabeth that I'm a fair weather person and if it's too cold we won't do it. She certainly understands. If those dates don't work we'll wait until she gets back from Ocala and do one sometime in March. We're also waiting to hear from Glenn Moody about doing one as well and what dates work for him. If you're interested in riding in a clinic and have someone in mind who you would like to teach it let me know and I'll try and set something up.
Another thing we are doing this winter is opening our ring for "SCHOOLING." Trainers can bring their students and teach a lesson. Riders can come to practice at a different place. It's a great way to get your horses off "your" property . E-mail or call me for details.
God bless,
Nardeen

We're getting ready for the horse show. Ryann has a great group of volunteers at the barn. Sam is out of school so he'll be a big help. Brittany was out of school yesterday so she helped a lot. I'm at home updating the web site and doing class sheets, entering, etc. I'm getting ready to leave for Costco to get the goodies for the concession stand. So our "team" is at work and doing a great job !!!
We hope to see you tomorrow.
Have a blessed day,
Nardeen

What a day, what a day, what a day !!! It was gorgeous. Perfect weather, perfect exhibitors, and perfect horses. It doesn't get much better than today. And don't we just love our horses. We have the sweetest, best horses. I just love them all.
Last night Kendall brought her baby horse Deena to the barn to spend the night for the horse show. Kristie and Kendall loaded her in the dark, hauled her over, and unloaded her in the dark. Then Kendall rode her under the lights with other horses - something she's never done before. She never batted an eye, never looked right or left and SHE JUMPED for the first time in her life. Yes, she jumped the first jumps of her life at night time under the lights. And the first jump of her life was a gate with a flower box, and then - what the heck, she trotted right over the roll top. She jumped walls, and roll tops, and brush, and flowers. Three years old. Go figure !!! Then today she showed in the Pleasure and won all three classes. She was one exhausted horse by the end, and rightfully so. What an AMAZING little horse. You go Kendall and Deena. Kendall gives the horses so much confidence in themselves. They all just love her.
And then there is Denise's AMAZING horse Sydney, who Ryann showed today. That horse is something else. She did the Open Hunter as a warm up for the Baby Green. Well, she was so good that Ryann and I decided not to do the Baby Green. She won all three Open Hunter classes. We love that horse. And I was so proud of Ryann. This was her first time riding as a professional and she did a great job.
Our two little angels Emma Claire and Logan made their show ring debut today and they were both adorable. They did the Beginner division and jumped four jumps in the first class and five jumps in the second class. They were cute as could be. I don't know who was more nervous - them, their parents, their grandparents or ME !!! I was tickled pink with both of them. Lindsay Prentice - one of our CNU girls was Champion riding At Last (Rocky) and Brittany Davis was Reserve Champion riding Weebee. We were proud of our girls.
Thank you to all our helpers today. We sure have a great group and a great "TEAM." That's what it takes - team players and team work. Ryann and I appreciate and love you all.
Our "Mock IHSA" classes were fun. We hope to have more of these shows this winter. I'll be posting some show dates soon.

Isn't this the most wonderful time of the year. I love Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday. I love that we get together with friends and family but there are no presents involved.
Presents are soooooo over rated. They stress everyone out. You have to fight the crowds trying to find something to buy for people who already have everything they need or want. I love buying Christmas presents when I have a "clue" as to what would "mean" something to the person I'm buying it for. But for the most part it is just total insanity. So with that said - this is my declaration that I am not a participant in Christmas presents this year. Actually, I've not been for the past few years. What I've done is make a donation to one of my favorite charities. I have several in mind for this year and haven't decided which one it will be yet. I will probably buy a goat or a chicken from Heifer International. I found out about this charity several years ago from my friend Caroline. Her mother got a present of a "Flock of Geese" which was such a cool present. Here's the info on it:
Heifer International - 800-698-2511 - www.heifer.org/catalog
"Give a life-changing gift to Heifer International in honor of a friend or loved one. It's a gift that brings promise to hungry families and the opportunity for a better life to the less fortunate." A starter flock of 10 - 50 Heifer chicks and training in their care is an especially effective way to help families escape chronic poverty and hunger. Since chickens require very little space, low-cost feed, and can lay more than 200 eggs a year, they are often a perfect fit for families living in the most extreme poverty. And because they are packed with protein, iron and zinc, each egg can become a lifesaving gift for a malnourished child. In fact, one million children around the world will die from zinc deficiency this year alone when just a few eggs a week would have meant the difference."
So - it looks like I'm going to be giving flocks of chickens to Heifer International in honor of you for Christmas. I may give a Llama too. And, how about a goat. Anyway - that's your gift from me. Ryann and I may make a few of our Christmas Apples if we have time.

I received this great e-mail for our troops. Please read it and respond.
XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOLIf you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq .You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!It is FREE and it only takes a second.Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these?Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them. This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do.We can never say enough thank you's.Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

Happy Thanksgiving. Aren't we all so blessed with our wonderful lives?
I am very grateful and thankful for how AMAZING this past year has been. I give God the praise and the glory for all my wonderful blessings, my family and my friends. This has been one of the best years of my life and certainly the best year since Chuck passed away. Thank you God for everything.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY RIDING
We have LOTS of horses that need to be ridden at Amazing Grace Stable on Friday and Saturday. With this rainy week and Thanksgiving, we haven't ridden much. If you would like to ride give Ryann or me a call. I will be teaching a lesson at 11:00 on Friday and probably again on Saturday. If you'd like to ride in one or both of them let me know. Nardeen
God bless you and love you,
Nardeen

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The entire family was here except my two nephews Jake and Josh. Plus Annya, Brittany and Agita - who are also like family to Ryann and me. We had so much food that we had to bring in another table to hold it all. And everything was delicious. Everyone has their special dish that they bring so it makes it a lot easier. Ma Helen ends up doing the most - and she's 84 years old !!! But she does it all with ease. She makes the pumpkin pies, pecan pies, cranberry salad, a delicious cheese ball, homemade applesauce - that is unbelievable, the stuffing, gravy and the turkey. I think the turkey was the best this year ever. She made it in one of those bags and it was so simple. She buttered it up, stuffed it, put it in the bag, and cooked it for four hours. And no basting. It was so juicy and moist. I don't really like turkey, but I must say this one was delicious. And all the other goodies - YUM !!! You name it - we had it. Because Ryann and Hunter were also going to the Lemon family's Thanksgiving later in the day we had ours at noon. I loved having it then. It was perfect.
Denise came over on Wednesday and spent the night and cleaned the house. That is such a blessing for me. It's always fun having her here. She's the sweetest thing and quite the helper. Plus she brought a delicious pasta dinner for Wednesday night. It's my sister Gracie's recipe and delicious. Denise has mastered making it!
So - I must say - these past couple of days have been WONDERFUL. Everything falling into place perfectly, and spending it with people we love.
Thank you God for blessing us soooo much.
I'm off to the barn for a fun day. Lots of horses to get ridden today. They've been on a little "vacation." Neysa is going to come out early and ride some. Come on out and join us !!! We're going to get started around 10:00 and again tomorrow. Hope to see you.
"Christmas Saddles." Santa has contacted me and is on the lookout. If you have a used saddle in good condition please let me know asap.
God bless,

A great weekend. The horses have been very good, despite having some time off. Anne (Martin) has all three of her horses at the barn now. Sly, Toby (Supernatural) and Corduroy. They are all beautiful. Sam has had a blast riding them these past few days . I think Sam feels like he's died and gone to heaven. What a great opportunity for him. Anne is so nice and generous with her horses. She's a pleasure to have at the barn. Denise had a lesson today on Sydney and was fabulous. That horse is too much. She jumped outrageous - as usual. Then as soon as the lesson ended she fell asleep in the cross ties. She is hilarious. I love having Denise at the barn. Another pleasure. And Neysa too. Neysa had a lesson yesterday on Troy who - of course - was perfect. Neysa did a great job training that horse. He is broke to death and will do just about anything you ask him to do. Such a good boy. Neysa also rode Reese yesterday and today. And - Heather (Nuckles) took a lesson today on Rocky. Heather rode great. Ryann was worried because he hadn't been ridden since before Thanksgiving but he was perfect. And Brittany rode Piper and had a great lesson. He is the sweetest little horse. We love Troy, Rocky and Piper and are so blessed to have them in the riding program. And now we have Anne's horses too. I know the college girls are going to LOVE them. Boy - we have sure been blessed with everything falling right into place. Thank you God !
Speaking of Neysa - I think it is so cute how "motherly" she is. We have been talking about going to some horse shows this winter and we think the first one we may head to is Stonehouse Stables on December 12. Well - Neysa wants to go, but she's going to skip it because it's the Smithfield Christmas Parade and she feels it's important to be there with Owen. I LOVE IT !!! The girl has her priorities straight. There will be lots more horse shows but only one Christmas Parade for Owen's first year !!! You go girl. I also love that she calls herself a "fair weather rider" because I'm a "fair weather trainer." I see no point being out in the rain, cold, excessive heat, etc. I love teaching riding - but only when the conditions are right. No point in being miserable doing something you love.
Neysa's father, Talmadge is opening a tack and feed store with Lisa from Horse & Hound. It is located on Route 17, just a few miles from Amazing Grace Stable. Neysa will also be offering embroidering which will be wonderful having a horse show person in our area to monogram chokers, saddle pads, etc., etc. I think this is going to be a great addition to our area. Click here to visit the web site. http://www.vawest-boot.com
We are very blessed in our little area to have several tack and feed stores.
God bless you in everything !
Nardeen
With God all things are possible.
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; Its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Isn't that a wonderful verse ! When things look impossible if we TRUST in God He will work it out. That's called "supernatural favor." Worry drains and cripples us. It doesn't help us in anyway. God WANTS us to call on him when we have troubles and when we TRUST in him he will be there for us. He NEVER lets us down.
